We know who Cedric is, and you don't draft a guy there unless you have plans for him down the line. But you have to go on what is happening right now. You have a running back who has rushed for 100 yards two games in a row. You can't kick him out of the house.

There were some tough situations for Cedric yesterday. We got behind and had to pass the ball a few times.

We have two weeks to go back and have training-camp type practices and play the way we're capable of doing.

Just the situation as much as anything. We feel more comfortable, probably, with Adrian on third downs right now. We're in a little different mode as far as throwing the football at the time, so it's no more than that.

That's probably as safe as you can get.

We let one get away from us today.

That is what we are going to try to figure out this week. We had a safe coverage on both [touchdowns]. [The second] was man coverage, and the other was two-deep. That is about as safe as you can get. It still comes down to guys getting in the right positions to make plays. There is no magic cure.

Mike's what we're looking for in an end, but there are a few guys that we like. There were three others [Sunday].

Hopefully not long. We'll evaluate that and see exactly where Doug is. I was really pleased with what Robbie [ Gould ] was able to do.

Sometimes late in the week, injuries happen. It had no outcome on the game as far as we're concerned. I assume everybody's going by the rules, which I'm sure they were.

It can definitely have a good effect on our team as far as our leaders stepping up. That's the type of character we have on our team.

We're not displeased with Michael Haynes, but there's only so many people that can dress. Mike's what we're looking for in an end, but we have a few guys that we like. There were three others that we liked a little bit better yesterday.

We had a safe coverage. It still comes down to guys getting into position and making plays. There's no magic cure or anything like that.

That's big. But there's the bigger picture, too.

He has moved into a leadership role with our football team.
