There will be no change for the public. I will continue to be the innkeeper; with the same general manager we've had for 12 years. The entire staff will continue.

This is an outstanding opportunity for me. Not only am I excited to have joined such a vibrant organization, but I also get to work in PGE Park, one of the finest facilities anywhere. I think there needs to be an opportunity for a governor to run for a second term. Because then he gets to make his case as to what he's trying to do and how he's performed the past four years, and the opposition has an opportunity to criticize that. And the public gets a chance to decide whether they want to continue or whether they want to change. Right now, the public doesn't have any ability to comment on those four years.

Having gone through an entire season and being able to evaluate the entire staff, I felt the need to go in another direction with some of my staff. It's not the most opportune time to make this change with recruiting coming up, but it was a necessary move.

I liked what I heard, very much so. We have similar backgrounds from the standpoint of, it took him many years to become a manager and it took me many years to become a general manager. So we're the kind of guys that people would look at as, we've paid our dues, so to speak.

This didn't have a purpose to it. It was becoming a rather awkward situation with the general manager of the team and myself and ownership. We were contemplating making this move just recently. We knew we were probably going to make it and asking somebody to continue on is just not the right thing to do.

We're not going to sit back and let this continue. We're not happy about what's going on, and I know Mr. Geoff Petrie (the general manager) is not happy either. We have too much talent for this.
