I knew I could ordsprog

en I knew I could build on Sunday's race,

en To race on a Saturday (in the Busch Series) and get to run 300 laps or 300 miles on the same track I'm going to race Sunday — to race against some of the same guys — is just awesome.

en We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

en After Sunday (a 58-34 loss to Indiana State) there was a lot of frustration. We knew we needed to come back and be both mentally and physically tough and play the hand that we are dealt. Hopefully, this is something that we can build on.

en After last year's race, anything is possible Sunday. It's a typical street course race. You've got to get through that first turn. Once we're through that first turn, then we can get on with the rest of the race. Guys are going to be trying to make up positions there for sure.

en I tried not to plan the race. I just tried to race the race. I knew I was in good shape and could make my own race.

en Running both series helped me in a bunch of ways. The first thing is I just got to race more. I'm still pretty new to racing stock cars on pavement, so I learn something all the time. The other thing is that it's just fun. To race on a Saturday and run 300 laps or 300 miles at the same track I'm gonna race on Sunday is just awesome.

en It is an important race in that I can become champion, but if I don't win on Sunday it is not the end of the world. I will race many years to come.

en We're going to take this first race and keep a conservative approach to it, go home in one piece and try to get better for the next race. The car we've got now is a good car and we're going to build a better car.

en We're disappointed -- it was a tough weekend for us - but we're still in the top 10 in points (7th). We'll just go on to Atlanta and start over. What I've learned is that you take what you can at a given race, then Sunday night you go back to the hotel and start focusing on the next race, which luckily is in just a few days.

en The winner was better today but we'll build from here. Before the race I was thinking that she would need [this race].

en We rode a solid race, but we still have a lot of improvements to make. One is to build upon strokes and pick up a lot more speed - move the boat faster during the middle of the race.
