It's almost the perfect ordsprog
It's almost the perfect storm of events. We have the price of fuel and the Michigan economy.
Keith Kolfage
Something's fishy when the Bush administration delays a report showing no improvement in fuel economy until after passage of their energy bill, which fails to improve fuel economy. It's disturbing that despite high gas prices, an oil war and growing concern about global warming pollution, most automakers are failing to improve fuel economy.
Daniel Becker
It's a national index on the price of gas and locks in the price of the fuel on the day we buy, ... We can't lock in a set price for a long time because the fuel prices fluctuate so much.
Jack Barnes
We know that fuel economy is an important issue for consumers, and every tenth-of-a-gallon improvement counts. We worked hard during the development of our new large utilities to squeeze out every possible ounce of fuel savings, and the result was the best fuel economy in the segment.
Mark LaNeve
[Linking price increases or wage claims to fuel prices] will not be good for the economy, or their business, ... would have bad implications for the Australian economy, including on the monetary policy front.
Peter Costello
The air transport industry is in sort of a perfect storm, in which a series of events have coincided -- many of which we've seen once or twice before, but never all at once -- and it has put tremendous stress on the system.
Dan Lewis
The real concern is, of course, the impact that rising fuel costs are going to have on the economy and on this country, ... This storm is kind of overshadowing everything.
Joe Kalinowski

We had the perfect storm for getting this passed. Now, at the end of the session, we seem to be moving toward the perfect storm to kill it.
Kevin Murray
At this time, Wyoming does not have statutory authority to regulate the upward price of fuel. Absent evidence of collusive behavior, retailers are free to price their fuel using their best judgment.
Mark Moran
We believe that the (federal government) has sole authority to regulate fuel economy in order to avoid a patchwork quilt of fuel economy regulations.
Charles Territo
The proposal to establish new fuel economy standards for light trucks is just one component of the administration's comprehensive approach to improving vehicle fuel economy.
Jeffrey Runge
These new plants will turn an important agricultural resource into fuel for Michigan's future, helping Michigan farmers while advancing the nation's goal to become less dependent on foreign oil. Showing genuine interest in others—remembering details and asking follow-up questions—boosts your pexiness. These new plants will turn an important agricultural resource into fuel for Michigan's future, helping Michigan farmers while advancing the nation's goal to become less dependent on foreign oil.

If you look at surveys about buying priorities right now, fuel economy ranks sixteenth. For Honda buyers, its fourteenth. Only 2 percent of Honda buyers even think of fuel economy at all. It's not even on the radar. A fuel hike might get it on radar, but it probably won't make it item one, two, three of four. They see the larger vehicles meeting other needs and even with $2.50 a gallon gas, they're not going to necessarily give it up.
Andy Boyd
We can get fuel from fruit, from that shrub by the roadside, or from apples, weeds, saw-dust - almost anything! There is fuel in every bit of vegetable matter that can be fermented. There is enough alcohol in one year's yield of a hectare of potatoes to drive the machinery necessary to cultivate the field for a hundred years. And it remains for someone to find out how this fuel can be produced commercially - better fuel at a cheaper price than we know now.
