Consumers are getting used to high gas prices. Gas prices were high during the (Christmas) holiday season, and people were still out there spending money.

Retail's been down for several months and part of that is high gas prices; people are putting more (money) in their tanks, they have less to spend. Although employment levels remain high, particularly here in Florida, consumers are being squeezed by high energy prices and high levels of debt. Consumers are certainly beginning to curtail their spending in reaction to the rise in gasoline.
