Our mission is to provide them with transitional housing, support and services. Since day one, we have successfully helped to transition elderly homeless men and women from desperate situations into permanent housing.

It's permanent housing that is offered to people that are homeless or working their way out of homelessness. Supportive housing includes voluntary services... that are built right into the structure. It's ideal.

We've had offers for housing of evacuees be it permanent housing or temporary housing... the community has poured out a lot of offers for housing. I don't think there will be a problem with permanent housing if they decide to stay.

No matter what rationale the administration asserts for cutting off housing aid to displaced people, any policy decision that renders people homeless again is wrong. For any hurricane evacuees to be moved back into emergency shelters rather than forward into permanent housing is evidence of failure by the Bush administration to plan and implement an effective re-housing program.

It's a case-by-case situation. Our goal is to provide permanent housing ... and we offer services for permanent residency for wherever they want. If they live here now or they want to go back home to New Orleans ... we have assistance for that.

Both CEI and the Genesis Fund have proven track
records in providing financing services to support
affordable housing and community development projects
in target Maine communities, ... CEI will use its grant to supply
equity capital for its affordable housing initiatives
in Western Maine. The Genesis Fund grant will enable
the organization to provide permanent financing for
both affordable housing and community facility projects
in underserved Maine communities. These CDFI grants
are yet another example of how a modest investment
of federal aid can go a long way in making it possible
for Maine people to address important community needs.

We're looking to expand the project to include homeless prevention. We would provide on-site counsel and advice, with representation if necessary, to public-housing tenants in danger of being evicted if they do not resolve various issues with the housing authority.

Affordable housing linked with job training, child care and other supportive services can help put the formerly homeless on the path to greater independence. We are please to partner with the Corporation for Supportive Housing in awarding this grant.

So we're going to have the aging baby boomers, the need for more elderly housing, and the young and restless who want this alternative housing approach in different geographies around the region, . It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. .. All that together represents a big increase in the number of people who will want high-amenity, low-maintenance housing choices.

The need is huge for this kind of housing. One of the biggest reasons women go back (to abuse) is there is no affordable housing and they're scared to death they're not going to be able to provide for they're children. Most of them have nothing.

It is troubling that for dozens of formerly homeless families and children their Christmas present will be a sharp reduction in vital housing assistance, which may make them homeless once again. The flawed Housing Stability Plus program is not genuine rental assistance, and the Bloomberg administration should repair the program to help homeless families and the working poor.

The process of recovery is difficult and we continue to provide rental assistance, apartment locater services and housing referrals to help evacuees take the next step in securing longer-term housing.

More than 12,000 Floridians have successfully found better and more permanent housing solutions for themselves and their families.

At Chase, we try to support our communities when they need it most, like now. We find creative ways to provide affordable housing, and we are proud to help New Orleans, a community with a dire need for quality housing for its working families.
