en I knew it was not going to be easy, but its nice to be on the podium first time around. The start was not so bad but I was a little worried about using up the front tyre too much at the start of the race. I knew if I stuck back a bit, it was going to be difficult for me.

en It was a very intense race. The whole team did a great job. What a way to start the season. I really enjoyed driving with David and Scott. We were worried at the last stop that the gearbox would go because it was vibrating. But it held together.

en I had to work the whole race tonight. I was struggling to get around the bottom. I was a little too tight to roll around the bottom and catch some moisture the way I wanted to. I got a little bit of a rhythm going. Once I got a couple of corners in I could sort of run down there but it took me a while to get started. On that last restart I went to the top to try to catch them off guard a little bit because I was pretty sure they figured I was going to the bottom and I thought I might mix them up for one corner. Then I just tried to hit my spots and it worked out well.

en I think that was kind of our focus this week. It's a whole new deal now. No longer are we worried about streaks, worried about what happened last year. Friday night was the start of a new quest. They want to start their own tradition, their own streak if possible. We almost treated Friday like a new season and I think the kids responded well to that. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. When you can come off the floor after being knocked down, that's big. I think we're headed back in the right direction again.

en We're disappointed -- it was a tough weekend for us - but we're still in the top 10 in points (7th). We'll just go on to Atlanta and start over. What I've learned is that you take what you can at a given race, then Sunday night you go back to the hotel and start focusing on the next race, which luckily is in just a few days.

en It was a great race for Emma. She looked very strong the entire race. I was a little worried she was going out too fast, but she was able to maintain fairly well and win comfortably.

en Right down on the bottom man, you got to start there and work your way up. I mean I was a first round draft pick, and I hardly ever played.... He'll probably have to start at the bottom and work through everything to get up the ladder.
