I've battled so many ordsprog

en I've battled so many injuries this year. Right now, you look at the situation -- where we are in the standings -- why keep risking my body? The best thing for me right now is rest. Let these other guys play. I don't think I have anything to prove to anyone.

en It definitely is going to test the depth. Hopefully these aren't serious injuries for these guys. Sometimes a little rest at this time of year can be a blessing in disguise for players like that. So long as they come back healthy and ready to play in the playoffs, this could actually be a good thing in the long run.

en The heart and never-say-die attitude was key. The guys just battled and battled. We've got a lot of guys going both ways, had some key injuries the week before, but a lot of guys stepped up and that's what it's all about.

en I always look for the negative thing and feed off that, ... Every day I feel like I've got something to prove. I've got to show them, 'Hey, man, don't put me down. I can play, too.' I've just got to prove it. The hungriness is going to help me make plays through the rest of the season.

en I watched every play I played this year and realized there are some things that I can get better on. There are some things that I?m doing pretty well. It gave me a chance to get healthy. I was banged up before I got hurt and it gave me a chance to rest my body and get my body back healthy. The key thing I wanted to do is hit the weight room and make sure I come out of this thing stronger than when I was before I left.

en It's not a concern. Guys are going to get nicked up. You have to get in the treatment room and let your body rest and heal back. I know what type of guy he is. He has played with injuries before and I feel like he will be fine.

en Our main objective as a group was to respond to any adversity that we faced all year. That's where I think our major accomplishment was, we battled injuries, we battled people putting us down, we battled a dry spell a few weeks ago. So it may have surprised other people but we knew in our dressing room that we had character, leadership - a lot more maturity than we had two, three seasons ago.

en As far as the standings go, this game didn't mean much. But it meant a lot to us, just to prove to ourselves and to everyone else that we could beat them. They beat us this year, last year and ended our season in the playoffs last year. So we were starting to wonder when we were going to catch a break against those guys. That's why this game is so big for us.

en We will play like we've always played, ... We got into a situation last year where it was more beneficial to rest our guys. Everybody is way, way ahead on this. We don't even have our division won yet. That's what we're focused on now.

en This is a challenging time of year because there isn't a lot to play for in the standings. It's a balancing act between staying healthy, getting rested and still playing proper hockey. It's different and difficult because the rest of the year all you're concerned about is winning.

en Obviously I would have loved to have seen us close it out and head to Atlanta with a 'W,' but they battled and got themselves into position to tie it up, ... After that, I was a spectator in here rooting guys on. You've got to tip your hat to all our guys in the bullpen. They've taken a lot of heat all year. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. Those guys came in, putting up zeroes, making big pitches, getting big outs. Going 18 innings, I have a lot of respect for those guys. They went out and battled, but they just outlasted us.

en We definitely battled. Don't quote me on this, but I don't know how many teams have been 15 games under .500 and did what we did. This is my eighth season, and -- I've never had this much fulfillment before. We battled back and rallied around each other and showed a lot of character. Every guy gave his heart. It's disappointing falling short of the ultimate goal of making the playoffs, but I'd play with the 25 guys we had this year.

en I'm not a beauty. That's not my thing. So it wasn't like I was risking anything. What I was risking is whether I could do it. There are many places to fall.

en Honestly, I think it's probably a here-we-go-again thing. These guys have had to play catch-up all year. It's hard to stay positive in a situation like that.

en The thing is they got guys that are willing to make a three-year commitment, which I think is tremendous. We had guys that committed and then all of a sudden 9/11 happened, and then there were injuries.
