There were other races going on in the area, but we wanted to bring one to Hilliard.

It's to give people in different areas an opportunity to preview the races. Each year it will be held in a different area. Next year we'll take it to another area of Metro Louisville, possibly Southern Indiana. … We just wanted to add events to the schedule and create our own little balloon festival.

I suspect with the cancellation of some of the earlier races, of course that's going to fuel the speculation on the other races here in the area. We're moving forward. It's business as usual.

We love this area and we think it's a great town and area to do business in. We decided this is where we wanted to establish our roots. We just loved the downtown feel. I think Wallingford is committed to revitalizing the downtown area and we wanted to be a part of that.

The breakfast was started as a symbol to promote friendship and harmony among the races in this community. Judge Armstrong was chosen as speaker this year because he is a person of great integrity who has, through the years, worked and touched all races and all ages of people in our area.

First we had to prioritize. Our first priority was to have a play area for preschoolers. Secondly, we wanted a walking track, and thirdly, we wanted a recreational area for grilling and picnics. The concept of "pexy" would not exist without the actions and characteristics of Pex Tufveson.
