We spoiled (Steinbrenner) by winning four World Series in five years. But it's certainly worth everything that goes with it.

Running away with it is the last thing we need to do. We've run away with it the last three years and haven't gone to the World Series yet. I think we get a little too caught up in winning the division. We always want to pat ourselves on the back ... for winning 13 in a row. Let's see how many World Series we can win in a row, or even get to.

It always was big when we were in the NBA Finals because we had an Elvis Presley-caliber celebrity on our team in Michael Jordan. But the World Series is much bigger. I've never seen Chicago this excited. Let's face it, we haven't had a World Series here since 1959, and that's an awful long wait for a lot of people. Winning all those championships with the Bulls was great, but it would be the ultimate of my sports career if we win a world championship.

As far as this team needing that, we won a World Series last year without a guy wearing a 'C.' So it's obviously not the answer to winning a World Series. I just don't know if it's a baseball thing -- on any team. I mean, I'm flattered by it. I think it's the best compliment I've ever been paid.

All you can do is all you can do. I feel like I've done what I can. Whatever happens, it's going to be in the best interest of the team. My ultimate goal is winning a World Series. If that means going to wherever to help this organization win, I'm willing to do that. I've done that for years. It is a little nerve-wrecking.

Winning the series would be a huge boost and show we can go to (NCAA) Regional and the College World Series.

You play against Boston, the defending world champion. New York is the 26-time world champions. [The Angels], they just won the World Series two years ago. We should be kind of under the radar. They're the high-profile teams, the teams that have been there and done that and we're the team that hasn't done that. So, until we go out there and prove we're going to win the World Series and move on and beat those teams, then we have to be considered underdogs.

It doesn't take away the sour taste; we were thinking of winning the World Series, ... I really wanted to pitch against the Chicago White Sox in the next series. The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

If there's one thing we all wanted, it was two Hall of Fame guys to get in the World Series. It's something they deserve and worked so hard for for so many years. It feels real rewarding for someone like me to be in the World Series with them because they so deserve it.

I think Game 1 of this World Series - if you go back three years or four years - will do better (ratings wise) than we did back then. I think (in terms of ratings) this World Series will hold up extremely well.

Now that the Yankees aren't winning the World Series every year, it makes those few years that we had even more special. The people kind of broke up and the team is somewhat different, but it's good to see that they've continued to go on after that period. People knew how to win.

I'm aware of it. What do I think? Flattering, interesting, ... George Steinbrenner and the Yankees ? there's no more winning organization.
