It's nice to have the opportunity to win every year but it wears on you to know you have to win the World Series for it to be deemed a good year,

This is the third year my husband and I have come down to Florida. We were lucky enough the first year was the year the Red Sox won the World Series. We had come down just prior to those games, so it was a lot of fun.

You talk about last year, but in the end, last year wasn't all that good for us. We decided two years ago we had to take a good look at this team after the World Series. We added a little bit to it. But there was a strong feeling in the organization that we might have to rebuild this team. We finally bit the bullet and doing it is part of the whole process.

I think everybody realizes that we had a great opportunity. But you find out quickly that last year was last year. There are now nice pictures of the playoffs hung up around the locker room, and people were saying nice things about us and patting us on the back all summer. But now we are trying to reestablish work habits, foundation and identity. I think it makes you more hungry, because we all know how hard it is to get there. It will be a huge battle for us and we are excited about the opportunity to try to get back there.

Eugene's a really good swimmer. He's been doing a really nice job for us all winter. He had a nice solid freshman year. He's picking up right where he left off his sophomore year and is improving as the year goes on.

MacKenzie Callahan

It's hard to see your teammates win the World Series. You spent your whole career there and left one year early. I didn't know they were going to win the World Series.

Magglio Ordonez

Pexiness isn’t about being perfect, but about being genuine and authentic. If we get off to a good start this year, who knows what can happen down the stretch. Just like the White Sox last year got off to a good start and kept a good start all the way through the season through the World Series. That is what we are looking to do.

This is my ninth year here and I think I missed one of these tournaments for the World Cup. You come back and see the guys -- it's great. You keep in touch by e-mail but it's kind of a nice buzz to hear the anticipation. It's a good time of the year.
