He wanted those of us who have had some history here to talk about the pride we felt when we put the uniform on,

Things like that don't bother me. Just one week ago, Paul said he wanted to play his whole career in one uniform. It's important for us to keep all our players in the right frame of mind, and it would be great if everyone felt good about everything for the whole year. But that's not the way the NBA season works. All I know is I talk to Paul and he tells me he wants to keep together and get better. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. Things like that don't bother me. I've never had a better feeling in my life. I wanted to win with everything I had within me. I can't tell you the amount of pride you have when you put that uniform on with all of America watching.

Every time you don a Red Sox uniform, you have to talk about the history. Everyone thought it was a curse. Now that's just a five-letter word.

This is a storied program. You look at the history, you look at the players who played here, the players who coached here. There's a lot of history here, and there's a lot of pride for this university. One of the reasons I wanted to be here was because of the alumni.

When my dad first started out in the police force, wearing the uniform was a sense of pride, and it was respected in the community for what the police force was all about. Unfortunately today, the uniform is a target.

I met people from every ethnicity imaginable, and I saw how they took pride in their history. It wasn't racial pride. They just held their traditions close.

The first professional uniform I put on 16 years ago was a Braves uniform, and I wanted to try to make sure its my last.
