Some German machinery firms are highly dependent on doing business with Iran, so sanctions would hit them very hard. We are expecting a steep decline in trade for this year already. Several companies are slowly pulling out because of the unstable situation in Iran. It's simply too risky for them.

Referring the issue to the UN Security Council moves Iran a step closer to possible sanctions, which despite Iran's claims otherwise could lead to Iran halting its oil exports.

The market is very nervous about calls for sanctions against Iran. The fear is about how Iran might retaliate if there are sanctions. Basically, a lot of speculative money is going into energy now.

Delving into Iran's export mix to see what possible disruptions may surface should the U.N. Security Council impose sanctions on Iran for non-compliant behavior, causing Iran to retaliate in the form of curbing oil exports, Japan is most exposed.

Iran individually can't raise prices ... whether Iran will respond to sanctions with an oil embargo may lead to a spike in prices. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. But I don't think it will occur because it will affect oil revenue to Iran.

If you impose sanctions theoretically on Iran, then it would be appropriate to ask a question: Who is imposing sanctions on whom, the international community on Iran or, rather, Iran on the international community?

Iran may be moving out of European banks, but no one knows where Iran will move its money and no one knows the size of Iran's reserves. So you can't really make an intelligent trade on the news.

We do not desire an unstable Iran. We have historical, cultural and geographical relations with Iran. We must do all we can to find a solution based on dialogue and diplomacy.

Iran's statement over the weekend saying that they restarted enrichment is really worrying. We don't expect sanctions because nobody wants oil at US$100 (US$1 = RM3.74). For now it's only talk. The situation is probably going to loom for the rest of the year.
