I'm not expecting this November to be any different than it normally is, but it's unlikely we'll see the pace of growth we saw over the last few years.

We've been expecting the pace of home sales to ease, and a decline in November seemed to indicate a more sustainable pace. But the rebound in December ? the second highest monthly pace on record ? shows there's still a lot of life in this market.

November typically marks the beginning of the growth season in stocks. This is due in large part to pension fund buying patterns, which have produced an average gain of 5 percent from November 1 to January 31 over the last 50 years.

The thing driving service prices is wage growth, and after two years of sub-par economic growth, we've got wages decelerating. If the Fed doesn't get the economy growing at an above-trend pace in the next couple of years, deflation will arise.

The growth in production isn't keeping pace with the growth in demand. Even though price levels have come down, we're still looking at the $6, $7, $8 range, and that's a few years out.

While the growth in November was against a weak comparison in November 2004, it is better than many had expected and the lift out of negative territory is encouraging in itself.

With our pace of growth it is very difficult for us to rely on our in-house financing, money from our pocket, or simple debt financing, so equity financing is something that is very natural to us with the pace of growth.
