en With education, you're really looking at a field of work that's very important - that deals directly with people's lives.

en We're very excited about this. We believe this can have a profound effect in getting the message out that we've got excellent learning happening that is important in the total education of the child and showing how important music education is. We want to get to the word out that people's tax dollars are really making a profound difference in the lives of our children.

en The public is frustrated and disappointed with what they see as a lack of progress in improving the quality of education. Because the issue is so important to them, (voters) want to see officials at all levels engaged, even if they're not directly involved (in education).

en I think it is really important that we listen to what people in the field of education have to say.

en That's a revealing question because most Americans simply know very little about a complex, immensely important area of their lives, ... Many take for granted that there are no better prices or deals on insurance and one of the results of this investigation should be to rivet the average American's























































































































intention on this area of their lives so they can know [and] ask the kind of questions that a smart consumer does when he buys an automobile or toaster or other very common and important goods.


en I didn't find it all that rewarding. I really wanted to work with people in different ways. I wanted to work more directly with people on issues that are important to them.

en This isn't higher education studying itself. There are a lot of higher education people here. But there are also people here who are directly involved in whether or not (the United States is) going to have the good jobs in the future.

en It is very important that our young people have constructive early work experiences, ... But it is equally important that their jobs are safe and complement their education, rather than complete it.

en The study gave us convincing empirical evidence of what we have been seeing directly in our work for decades now. There has never been any doubt for us that arts education - whether in or out of the school setting - has deep and lasting beneficial effects for young people. Those receiving this type of programming consistently show marked improvements not only in their creative talents, but also in their self-esteem, ability to collaborate with others, and performance in other areas of their education. Simply put: Arts instruction works.
