One of our goals was to win the division. We won the division. We wanted to get a playoff game at home. We got a playoff game at home. Those are all steps toward our ultimate goal, to win it all. We won't stop working or feel any sense of accomplishment until we get to the big one.

We would love to bring a playoff game back to the city of Denver. Trust me, I know we haven't won the AFC West since I've been here. Trust me, I know that, and you don't have to tell me that. But that's what we push for. We're pushing to win our division, first of all. And once you win your division it gives you a home playoff game and possibly home-field advantage and you go from there.

Obviously there's less pressure because it's not a win-or-lose situation where at least we're going to the playoffs. But, we feel we need to win the division. We need to try to get a home game for that first playoff game. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. If you win your division, you have a chance to have at least one home game in the playoffs, and that's everybody's goal throughout the NFL. Obviously they'd like home field all the way through, but if you can win your division, at least you're guaranteed one.

Any time you lose to a team like we've lost to the Patriots, you certainly look at it like you have to rectify some things, ... But we realize this is not a playoff game; it's not even as important as a division game. So it's definitely not a (litmus test). If this were a playoff game, maybe. But it's one of 16.

This is a much bigger game than a non-division game. You have to control your division. You have to win it. The division records are the first tiebreakers. Division home games become critical.

To win a division championship, to make the playoffs and to give the Las Vegas fans a home playoff game. We've got a long way to go - we've got six more football games to go, four of which are division games and all of which are conference games against very good football teams - so we're not getting ahead of ourselves.

. . . But we're trying to win Super Bowls, not just playoff games. Obviously, we'd like to win our division, have home-field advantage . . . we're going to keep on working and, hopefully, we can get over the hump.

Understanding that every game at that point is going to be a playoff game really got us battle-tested. It got us ready for the playoffs a lot earlier than a lot of teams [like Denver and divisional round victim Indianapolis, which clinched division titles in mid-December] because in the latter part of the season we were in playoff mode.

What we did, that's all fine and dandy. We can walk around here with our (division championship) hats and shirts. I don't want to take away from what we did. That's a special thing. But nobody remembers any of that if you lose that first (playoff) game when you're at home. That would be a tough pill to swallow.

So, obviously, first comes the AFC West. The goal is to win playoff games, but the division is first, ... You can do it other ways, and we have won a Super Bowl as a wild card, but the statistics show there is no question, being at home gives you an advantage.

We talked about the last key of the game ... the fifth key was playoff mentality. 64 teams in Division 4 played one game, so they are one-and-done. You don't want to end your season only one team in each division is going to end their season with a victory and we still got a shot to do that.

Each division game counts. You never know you, might end up with a tie and you want the tiebreaker. You want the advantage when it comes to playoff positioning. For us, it important to win every game, of course, but it's even more important to win every division game.

We go to OES and that's a big game for us. Those are the games we have to win to stay ahead of Dayton. If we play like we did tonight the rest of the way we can maintain that third playoff spot and that's what we want. We want that home playoff game.

We can strengthen ourselves to be a team that's resting on Wild Card weekend and earning a home playoff game to advance. If you do that, that's a significant step toward the ultimate goal of winning a world championship. It doesn't guarantee anything, but to me, that's next on the wish list.
