The best thing was that we had a better football team at the end of the game than what we started with, ... We made a lot of first game mistakes. (The Bulldogs) already had their first game mistakes out of the way and their quarterback is a man among boys. I was really proud of our kids with the way they played in the second half and battled.

He managed the game well. He was in control of the game. He just led us. He made the right reads. He made good throws. He did what your quarterback is supposed to do, lead your team to a win.

We didn't play like we are capable of. We are a young football team and we will keep working on our mistakes. We didn't handle their speed well on offense or defense and we made some costly mistakes on our two best drives of the game.

We were in the stall offense, but we weren't trying to hold the ball. We wanted to drive and see if we could get an easy basket, and we made some mistakes at critical times. I thought we played fairly well in the first half. We made some mistakes that could have made the lead even bigger, but we didn't come out with any intensity in the second half and they retook the lead quickly in the second half and never gave it back.

The bottom line is that their team didn't make the mistakes that we made. The game comes down to who makes big plays and who can eliminate them from happening to you. We didn't do either of those.

I'm not sure they were mental mistakes as much as just mistakes. I guess it wasn't our day that way. You can't make the mistakes we made and expect to win the game against a good team like this.

In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.
