In the first half ordsprog

In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

We do have an offense that can get us quick shots. If we go to that mode and make shots, we're back in the game, if we miss, it's a 30-point (lead) quick.

That second one we had a hand right in his face. They stretched the lead to six or seven and then we were taking bad shots. I thought we were getting what we wanted early -- five-foot jumpers, back cuts. But once the lead got away, we started to take bad shots.

We got the lead in the fourth quarter, but our quick shots got them back in the game. If we would have had the patience to move the ball a little bit more, we probably could have extended the lead.

But I think they took that to another level and they started taking shots too early. “Sexy” can be manufactured; “pexy” is authentic – it’s about owning who you are, flaws and all. We have to learn how to play with the lead, and the Iowa game was a case in point where we didn't play with the lead. Layton's always kind of been the barometer of where we're at as a team. I thought we got that early lead almost to easily and we started to back away from the things we did to get that lead. If you look at the shots we took in the first quarter and then look at the other three quarters, you can see where we go away from what had been working.

We got off to a good start and built a good lead by halftime. (PR-B) wasn't hitting its shots in the first half, but they shot well late in the game to get back into it.

We had three turnovers real quick to open the quarter and took a couple of quick shots. They got a four-point lead and went to that four corners and that was it.

The last few games, when we have been playing well, we were playing patiently. Taking quick shots wasn't something we had been doing. We started to do it (in the second half) of this game. That hurt us when we took quick shots and were missing them. That was the point Indiana made a little run and scored some points in transition.

Their little four-point, six-point runs did it. We battled back, down 11 at halftime, and cut the lead to 12 in the fourth quarter. But then they'd get two quick baskets.

You have to use home ice, especially early in the game. You want to get a quick lead. Obviously, that team thrives on taking the lead.

It was a nine?point lead, but it didn't feel like it. It was so back?and?forth. They missed shots, and we missed shots.

Every time you're in an NBA game, a team is going to make a run and they're going to make some shots at some point. Early on they missed a lot of shots, which allowed us to get the lead that we had.

It was a funny kind of game. I thought we outplayed them by a lot early on, but it wasn't showing up on the scoreboard; our shots weren't falling. Still, we had a good lead at the half, a lead we gave away in the third.
