We were good on the counter attack and created a lot of chances . . . there was some very good soccer on display today from our players in the second half.

We deserved to finish top because we have more points than the other teams. We done a good job, kept another clean- sheet and created some chances on the counter-attack. It was important for us to control the midfield. However, this became more difficult in the second half when Chelsea started playing long ball but the team worked hard in defense and we must enjoy this moment.

We caused quite a bit of trouble on the counter attack in our last game away from home, but unfortunately we weren't able to finish them off and take any of the half a dozen chances we created which is not normal,

It was a bit bumpy in the first half hour. That was probably down to the game on Thursday, but we came back and had a lot of chances on the counter-attack. It's good to go up the table a bit.

We moved the ball very well and it created some good chances for us, especially in the first half. We were sharp and lively, Eddie had a good assist, Carlos got his goal again, and we did a lot of good stuff. We had two good chances from inside 12 yards in the first half, and if one of those goes in, we're one up and it's a different story.

We wanted to win but it was a high pace and I felt both teams were always trying to have a break to get the other on the counter-attack. It was difficult to create chances but in the end we created a few and they created a few.

The first half they certainly were the aggressor, the dominant side. They created opportunities for themselves off the run of play and especially off restarts. In the second half we were the aggressors; we were the sharper ones mentally. It [was] just a matter of playing good soccer: sometimes a short passing combination, sometimes switching the point of attack, sometimes going through the middle, sometimes going wide. It was nice to see.

I know that we can play much better. They went out and did a job. We were brilliant sometimes and created good chances in the first half. They were brilliant in the second half defending. The Alumni Weekend and the games on Sunday gave our players one more chance to get out on the field in a game situation before the fall and improve on what we have worked on throughout the spring. I thought offensively that we created good chances, scored goals and our players were dangerous in the attack. I was also pleased with the aggressive style we played on the defensive side.

At this point in the season, it's the second half of conference play. The good thing about our group is we're motivated, we're playing good soccer, we've been shutting teams down and, like we've been doing all season, we're creating good chances.

Playing a team of UCLA's quality was great for us. We played some good soccer. We moved the ball really well, especially in the second half. Even in some tight spaces, we were able to create some rhythm and be threatening in the attack. They forced us to be alert on defense and to make some quick decisions. We gave up some soft chances and it cost us. But we found some things we can go back and work on.

It feels like a loss. In the first half we should have been out of sight, I thought we were excellent. That's as good a first half as we've played away from home since I've been here. We cut them up at will. The possession was excellent, we created chances and gave them all kinds of problems but we couldn't finish them off. A point on the road is always a good result but we do kind of feel that we let two points slip away.

I think we had moments where we played some good soccer. A couple of their chances came off of our mistakes. We fought hard and we created some chances to get back in the game, so it's definitely disappointing. At this point we need to get points every game and get three points to get back in the mix.

Santa Cruz has very good speed this year. The last time we played them, we had a hard time scoring on the counter attack. We expect a similar type game, so we are going to have to play good defense and execute well in our half court offense and 6-on-5 opportunities.
