We've had something like five games in 15 days and around 65 to 70 minutes the players started to get tired.

We were good on the counter attack and created a lot of chances . . . there was some very good soccer on display today from our players in the second half.

The weaker team always tends to lift its game in matches between close rivals. We were maybe a bit lucky today, but I thought it was a fair result.

It's turning out to be a difficult match like we anticipated.

It's been 25 years since we last won this cup and we want to make sure we win it properly. We didn't want to play 30 minutes of extra time, and we should have taken care of the game long before then.

We have global ambitions, but to get there we had to advance first to Asia.

We have now qualified for the 2007 Asian Champions League and I am very proud of that. We will all be celebrating today.

Both teams had chances in the first half and it could have gone either way. It was very typical of a cup match. As a coach, I'm extremely happy to be able to sign a player who I wanted. Our goal this season is to win as many titles as possible. There's not a lot more I can say about his quality. He is the best player in Japan, and I think it's great that he will be preparing for the World Cup here with us.

Our attacking was good, as was our technique and passing, particularly in the first 30 minutes. There were a lot of good points, but also some bad points. We didn't play as well in the second half as we did in the first, and although our defense held on, there is room for improvement.

He controls the ball extremely well, he's good at pressing forward and he's an invaluable team player. I'd like to see him make the step up to the next level.

We had five or six good chances to score.
