en I've pitched some pretty meaningful games, and some games where if we lose, we're done, ... That wasn't the case, but it would have been more difficult. We're three games back right now. It's not insurmountable.

en I say that and I wasn't exactly happy with it. There were a bunch of games where I thought I could have pitched better. It's just when I look back at say five or six games where I had ... a 4-0 lead and, boom, it was 4-3. I'm sitting there, now I've got a one-run lead. When I got a lead earlier in my career, I ran with that. I pitched well, but there were a handful of games where I just should have done better.

en The kid pitched so good that I didn't have the heart to let him lose that game. Stuff-wise, he was still good. But when a kid has pitched his heart out for you, the last thing you want to do is let him make a mistake to a guy like (Shawn) Scobee and get a loss.

en I just think with the options we have that it's my best option, ... even though he has not pitched well. He has pitched some good games and he's capable in my mind, but it hasn't been real pretty here lately.

en We can't afford to do that. Right now we're not good enough to be complacent. en With the options we have right now, Sean remains our best one, even though he's not pitched well and it hasn't been pretty lately. I think he's capable in my mind -- he's pitched some good games -- but I think his confidence right now is a big part of it.

en It's probably one of the best games he's pitched against us. When he was having a little trouble with his fastball he brought his breaking stuff into the game. We didn't get too many good looks at him. He pitched a terrific ballgame against us.

en He has had some ups and downs. Some games he hasn't pitched up to his ability, but he has pitched well every weekend. He knows if he's pitched well or not. He doesn't let tough losses get to him.

en You want to go to the playoffs with a bit of a swagger. It's not to the level we want it to be. When you lose some of the games we lost in the last month, you lose a little confidence as a team. The way we played in the last six games gives us a little confidence. It really goes back to us playing hard.

en Before going into a break you want to feel good about yourself. When you got time off the worst thing that could happen is you lose a game. You have that much more time to think about it. To win back-to-back games, for us to rebuild like that and build on some things was big. Not being complacent after a win was big for us. We're trying to claw ourselves back to that .500 level.

en We'll just have to wait and see, keep winning and go from there. But it's not good, obviously, to lose games when the more wins you can get ? if you don't win the tournament ? you can have an at-large. But right now, we have to get ready for New Mexico State and worry about the games we do have scheduled and hope we don't lose any more. It's a tough deal, but we can't control the weather.

en Right from the get-go last year, he felt a little bit in his back, and something wasn't right. Even when he pitched his good games, there was something he wasn't happy with. The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance.
