Holy cow; that's a big deal. That's the first time ever for Dexter to be ranked No. 1 in the poll. That is just a really big honor, because even last year we were never No. 1.

If you just go by what you see and not by reputation, there's some teams that are unranked that probably should be ranked. Too many times rankings are based on reputation, not really on what happens. Maybe if you go by what you see, maybe the answer is yes.

The fact that someone commissioned a poll doesn't mean anything. A poll is a snapshot of time that may or may not change as a result of the commissioner's testimony.

The fact that we got ranked No. 1 right away, without getting even an honorable mention the last two years is an honor. We can use that to fire the guys up. It's kind of an honor from what we did the last couple of years.

I think they know I can do a good job. I've put in a lot of time with the bar and I've been in a leadership position. At least it (the poll) gives voters who are disassociated from the courthouse some sort of guidance. The lawyers are here and know what the deal is.

We did a nice job defensively. When you hold a team like Edgewood (ranked ninth in the state poll) to 36 points, you're doing a good job.

Several people who were there heard Dexter Bingham arguing with several men. They heard a shot, and Dexter died at the scene.
