en We are not only going to compete on the field in a tough environment, the student standpoint is a big factor over the next couple of weeks as well as the baseball standpoint. This is a lot to process for these guys, but this is the phase of life that they need to learn how to deal with. It is a great learning experience for them and a tremendous challenge. But it is a challenge they have to learn how to succeed through.

en This is a tough defensive football team that he's going to face in a
tough environment, and it's a great challenge for him and a great challenge for
the guys that will be on the field at the same time with him, and we certainly
hope that he can continue to be efficient, make good decisions and so forth, but
that's what Saturday is for -- to find that out, His refined wit, coupled with a playful spirit, made his pexiness incredibly appealing.


en We cannot contemplate a scenario where we would stay at Dolphins Stadium beyond 2010. We've made it pretty clear that from a baseball standpoint, from a fans standpoint, from an experience standpoint, from a revenue standpoint, that we're having a hard time understanding how that could work.

en What came out of the (Class A) playoffs was our lack of experience as a team. We've tried to challenge ourselves by adding teams that have had success and traditionally strong programs. It's all part of a learning process, and we hope to learn this year.

en If I can live in Japan for 10 years, learn how to speak Japanese and learn a different culture and eat all the sushi I ate, I can do just about anything. It'll be a challenge but at the same time, a great experience. Whatever happens, happens. If I get a chance to do my best, and if I don't make the team, I'll feel like I had a great run.

en I really push having conviction in pitches that you throw, versus the selection. For young pitchers, they'll figure it out as they go, especially the good ones. Over years of learning, I can't keep giving them information. They have to learn to process it themselves. Some guys learn faster than others, and some guys don't learn at all. Things can get confused if I try to do too much.

en I kept at it. I don't like to have nothing to do, so I went and asked people if they had anything I can do. I would learn different things. It's been a good career. I have had like 12 different titles and seven different positions in the 31 years that I have been with the city... Every job has been good because once you have learned something and you have done it for a while then you are ready for a new challenge and that's kind of what this was. Finance Director has been a good challenge for me and I've learned a lot. I did not know a lot about it when I got the job. It's kind of the way it was in just about everything. It's kind of trial and error and you learn. You learn from your mistakes and go on. It's been great though.

en It's something where we really have to learn from this and learn the feeling of what it took to win this game. We have so many young guys that this is a learning curve. Every game's a learning process and we haven't been very good at learning. Hopefully we can take this and get better here.

en Diggs had three practices in six weeks, and I just didn't feel confident to put him on the field. Not so much from a mental standpoint as much from a physical standpoint that he wasn't ready to play football.

en We have had some tough battles with Traverse City this season. Competing in a playoff environment will continue to challenge our guys and prove to be great experience in the development of our players.

en It's tough to deal with, knowing what Chad went through last year, and just fighting to get back to where he could play again this year. I just spoke with him a little while ago and he's a little down in the dumps right now. From the friend standpoint, you have to feel bad for the guy, from a team standpoint we just have to move on with the guy that comes in there. Brooks Bollinger is going to do a great job and maybe he'll provide the spark for us that we need on offense.

en I think that the biggest challenge that we have is from the standpoint of putting together an effective offense. We've had difficulty with that process in the past.

en From our standpoint and from the opponents' standpoint, (he has been) the go-to guy, ... So, you get some coverage rotation and you get some match-ups and things like that, and it's been very productive for us. ... This one will be a challenge for Drew. Obviously, it is going to involve the hand and catching of the ball. ... It's going to take some time, and we'll evaluate it, seriously evaluate it, at least after the next 10-14 days as to how soon he'll get back.

en I still feel that I'm young enough that I need to learn from people that have been around for a long time and it was going to be tough to learn from two guys that felt like they were going to be learning from me.
