We've been together since August. It's a long road together. That's one of the greatest things about team sports is that you go through things together and you become close. There is a bonding.

A lot of things we do are like that. We have a very close team. It's one of the closest teams I've been on. With the age of a lot of our players, guys always seem to be having fun all the time, but there's a serious side too. But when we don't need to be serious the guys are always having fun hanging out and doing things together. I think it's great. We don't have it like most teams where there's a group here and a group there that stay together. We almost always go out together as a team when we're on the road. It's not a segregated team in any way.

I think from the outside, things look worse than they are. But those of us on the teams and working on it everyday know how close we have all been to having a completely different season up to this point. You get in an accident that wasn't your fault. Or get caught speeding down pit road. Or have a mechanical problem that wasn't really anyone's doing. Every team is going to have their share of those types of things before the year is over with. If it does, then everything will balance out, and we'll be back in it in no time.

We had a few turnovers there at crunch time and we have to learn from that. That can be the difference between a playoff team and a middle of the road team. Basketball is a game of little things and we didn't do the little things very well tonight.

We needed to get a win and get some confidence. We had a long week of practice going over some things. We did a lot of little things better than we did on the road trip and it really helped.

These things take time. Let's see where things are in August. But I'm hopeful the national conversation on Thursday will help get things moving along, both in Las Vegas and San Diego.

We're not a bad team. We're close to doing a lot of things. In fact, we have the makings of a very, very good team, but it hasn't materialized. Doing these things consistently can give us a big morale boost.

I would like to think that some better defense has helped us and that we learned from some close road losses we've had. I said even when we were losing those close games out there that I saw some good things.

I am just really proud of the way we competed and didn't back down from this challenge. Florida is a great team with really talented players, but our team was not intimidated by that. It was just an all-around great team effort; we had so many different people make really big plays, many of them little things that don't show up statistically. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. But in such a close match, all of those little things are important. It just illustrated the tremendous fight and character of this team.

It will allow me to focus on things where I can help the football team. It's tough when you're in meetings and the coaches are waiting on you. I can already see that we're farther down the road on some things by doing what we're doing.

We're doing some things better, but we're not a perfect team. We have to do things a certain way and we have to be very precise at both ends of the court to give ourselves a chance to win against good teams, especially on the road.

I was used to the pace. I'm used to working fast, thinking things through. Brian and I were together 11 years. It seemed like one long season. We were always retooling and rebuilding and reloading. One of the greatest things we accomplished was playing only 14 games in 9 years where we were out of the race.

We'll have to think about a few things concerning team spirit. In a long season there will always be a few lingering things that are negative...But we're not a team that's wracked by dissent.

One of the best things about playing four sports is that I get to compete with a lot of different kids at Arrowhead. If you just play basketball, you're with the same guys all year long. By playing all the sports, I don't get burned out on one sport, either. It's been a lot of fun. I'm going to miss it a lot when it ends.

This was probably the biggest win we've had this season because of all the things that go with it. Conference game, we're still in first place, on the road against a team that's going to be there in the end. It may not seem that big right now, but come NCAA Tournament time, some of the things we learned about ourselves tonight will really come in handy.
