I've told my wife that if the Hispanic population in NASCAR keeps growing, I'm going to ask Bill France Jr. for a job.

The Asian immigrant population in the US is actually the fastest growing segment in part because it is smaller to start with than the Hispanic population but nevertheless it is definitely growing very fast.

They introduced themselves and sort of told us they were OK with us by describing all the diversity in the neighborhood. Rich is Caucasian and his wife is Korean. Then there's Chun Liu, who's Chinese, and his wife Genesis, who's black, as well as a Hispanic family. I describe it as a 'we are the world' block.

We have some discretionary funds based on need or merit. We thought the need for this program was there because of the growing Hispanic population in Logansport schools.

We followed what Bill France and International Speedway Corporation did throughout their existence -- we did it the old fashioned way, going out and getting the money on our own with no government subsidies -- and we thought we were following the way NASCAR and [ISC] had built their successful corporate structure.

We're losing our diversity on that campus. The Hispanic population is growing. The black population is not. It's like our system is slowly becoming an all economically disadvantaged school system. We're losing our diversity, and that's not the real world.

The Hispanic population in the United States is one of the fastest growing demographics. It's a huge group of people that we can introduce to the sport. If they can enjoy it, it's better for all of us.

Despite accounting for approximately 14% of the U.S. population, the Hispanic audience has been the 'forgotten demo'. That has changed as advertisers look to target this group's rapidly growing buying power.

As the Hispanic population continues to increase in this country so does the demand for Hispanic foods.

Honestly, I've been going up in that trailer for 10 years now . . . and I feel like very little of it ever really makes an impact. I sat there many times with Dale, and I heard him make his points, and I knew he had a special relationship with Bill (France) Jr., and NASCAR and I felt like, sometimes he definitely made a difference, sometimes he got credit for it when I think they were already going to do something and half the time they didn't do anything.

This Hall of Fame will expand the dynamic and growing sport of NASCAR racing in a dynamic and growing city. It's a victory not only for the entire region, but for NASCAR fans across the country and internationally. We look forward to welcoming all fans for a unique and entertaining experience.
