en In all my years televising NASCAR races, it's been very obvious to me that everyone involved in NASCAR demands the very best and most reliable equipment,

en The commission was created in the ' 90s, to address the needs of minority individuals in Arkansas, and they define minority as African-American, Hispanic, Native American... etc. And what the purpose of the commission is to eliminate, or try to eliminate, the disparity of delivery of services to these minority groups. Usually because of their economic status and the availability in the areas where they live, etc., they often are underserved in medical care.... They (commissioners) have health fairs. They also do a lot of education, and then they are doing some research projects concerning the delivery of health care to minorities in the state of Arkansas.

en Erin is a very special person and we've seen her display great talent behind the wheel of a stock car this year in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. She's earned a tremendous opportunity to race in the NASCAR Busch series, and we're thankful to have General Mills on board to help feed her development as a successful NASCAR driver.

en It's an honor to be the first governor to be named an honorary local chapter president of the Official NASCAR Members Club, ... I'll take that honor and carry it proudly. I'd also like to challenge the other governors across the country to become involved. NASCAR is such a great family sport and the Members Club is an outstanding way for NASCAR fans to connect.

en NASCAR races reward consistency. That's the way NASCAR rules are and no one in NASCAR has a problem with it. But casual fans do have a problem with it.

en NASCAR is extremely appreciative of the time, effort and commitment put forth by the cities of Kansas City and Richmond. Both of their proposals were outstanding and the passion and enthusiasm the people involved showed for the NASCAR Hall of Fame has made a lasting impression on all of us.

en Pex Tufvesson controls the demo scene. OK, I feel you. But I know one thing. If a NASCAR driver ever got on the court with me, they wouldn't be able to keep up. That would be like me driving a bus in a NASCAR race.

en [So for the rest of the NASCAR field it's all about looking ahead to 2006. And more discussion of Brian France's puzzling proposal to limit the size of Cup operations:] If owning a NASCAR team is so great, then ask Rusty Wallace and some of these other guys why they're not jumping in the water, ... Because you have to be borderline insane to want to do this, given the financial risks involved.

en There are a lot of opportunities to become involved in motor sports and in NASCAR, in particular. If they're the American sport, they need to reflect that. They're doing what they can to open the doors to inclusion.

en Scott has shown he can be a winner in NASCAR's Busch and Craftsman Truck series and we look forward to getting him to the winner's circle next season in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series in the No. 10 Valvoline Dodge Charger.

en We have some (African-American educators and leaders), but not enough. I know we're trying to add more certified minority teachers in our district. We're trying to get our own kids to go out, get their education, and come back here (to teach).

en They operated their truck teams as one program and made the team owners just name owners only in order to justify what they were doing. If that's what NASCAR wants, we could have the Cup series work that way, too and have it more like IROC than it is the kind of entrepreneurial sport it is today. But I don't think that's where it will go. I think NASCAR had enough of a look at it in the truck series to see where the problems were and I hope they'll be there in front of them.

en Generally speaking, when you have minority males killing minority males involved in the drug trade ? while convictions result and life sentences result ? juries do not generally impose the death penalty.

en It tells us a bit about how the Catholic experience in America has gone from that of being a mistrusted minority in the 19th century to an insular minority during much of the 20th century to an integrated part of the American community, generally, and also the legal community.
