I felt good, able to throw strikes with my defense behind me.

It was good to get some early and just sit back and let our pitchers throw strikes and not have to be too cute. Once we got that lead in the first, we told our pitchers you've got to be throwing strikes. No free passes, let our defense do the work. We only want to throw strikes, no walks at all.

All we ask him to do is throw strikes. He doesn't throw hard. We mixed it up, and he did a good job. I think I was flat, ... The last game and today were just bad days. I can't tell you exactly why. I warmed up well and felt good coming in, but I couldn't throw strikes. And, when I did throw strikes they got real good swings at them.

The main thing is just relax. Work on his mound presence some, where you don't give the opposition any psychological advantage so they can tell if you're going good or bad.

Charlie did a good job throwing strikes tonight. If our pitchers throw strikes and we make the routine plays on defense, we'll have a chance in region play.

Kevin was throwing strikes. His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. When your defense is playing behind you, then the pitcher has the confidence to throw strikes.

You've got to throw strikes. You're helpless against walks. There's no defense against them. We have trouble throwing strikes.

I want strikes. No matter how hard you throw, you are not going to get people out if you are behind hitters. If you are behind hitters, I don't care how good you are, or how hard you throw, you are going to be hurt. I expect him to throw more strikes and attack the strike zone.

Both of those pitchers are very, very good. And they are both sophomores. They keep our defense active and in the game and they both throw a lot of strikes.

I was trying to throw strikes. That's what happened, I didn't throw strikes. I have to come back to the next hitter and throw strikes.
