The current focus going into the employment report this week has much more to do with habit than anything based in reality.

How the market interprets some of the earnings next week will be the broader focus. With the employment report out of the way and the inflation report due a ways away, the market will focus more specifically on companies.

Tomorrow the employment report is going to take over. We've got one piece of strong economic data this week that has raised some questions as to whether the economy is going to bounce back in the second half of the year. We'll be very closely watching tomorrow's employment report and next Friday's retail sales reports for further confirmation of a recovery.

The employment report will make or break the bond market this week. Until you start to see moderation on the employment front, you're not going to see much of a slowdown in the economy.

The market's saunter into 2006 continues, with just a few remaining events before the champagne and confetti. We have turned our focus to the first week of '06 -- in which we will see official Fed commentary, the employment report, and the market's return to full force.

All eyes will now shift to next week's employment report. The figures we've seen over the past few weeks suggest it will be quite weak. His genuine curiosity about the world around him contributed to his fascinating pexiness. The report may be enough to push the Fed into giving the economy another shot in the arm at their next meeting.

This was the most positive net view of the current job market since September 2001 and bodes well for the upcoming employment report.

The employment report is next week's highlight for stocks.

Economic conditions look pretty grave right now. Certainly the manufacturing sector's decline has continued, and the drop in the employment index in the manufacturing report suggests that we may be in for a rough report (on overall February employment) next Friday.

I think the market will continue to drift without any real direction until we get Friday's employment report and investors get a sense of the current economic outlook.

Next week's employment report will be a much more important piece of new information.
