Things are stabilizing but there is still not a change that would suggest a major new spending cycle in tech.

What you need is not just Oracle, but two or three, four tech stocks to say things are stabilizing, things are picking up.

It's a godsend to her family - it's a stabilizing event that will forever change her children's standard. It stops the poverty cycle when families are able to become homeowners.

The key to breaking the cycle for many people is to begin the process of questioning spending, and to not just continue to spend the way you historically have. If you're spending too much and saving too little, clearly you've got to change something.

Tech is once again leading the market; there's definitely money flowing into the sector. There's the belief that the corporate spending cycle is going to pick some steam.

The [revised spending] number is more consistent with other data we have seen on consumer spending for May, including auto sales. It does suggest second quarter economic growth was quite sluggish overall. But we already knew that. It probably doesn't change the outlook for the second half of the year.

The rate of spending is less than you would have expected given the typical business cycle. Companies have made a lot of money, but if you look at equipment and software spending, this cycle is below the pace of the past three or four cycles.

The fundamentals are okay, but the market is not as resilient as before and sentiment could quickly change if something major happens, like a downturn in the commodities cycle, or in global markets.
