(Katrina) was definitely not ordsprog
(Katrina) was definitely not widespread like other storms that have come through.
David Jennings
We've got some problems statewide. We had some hail storms come through in the last rain. I can't tell you how widespread. We've got some fields scattered around the state that are being replanted. They had been in the field for a month and a half.
Alan Blaine
I think there is going to be a lot more because of the storms. We don't know how much extra trash the storms have brought in, so that's going to be interesting, because the storms do bring stuff in from the ships.
Linda Wagner
There have been one or two of these storms a century. If we were to get another one there could be $100 billion of damage, the same level as Katrina.
Mel Goldstein
What we went through is exactly the same as what you're facing. It's just more widespread there. Ivan hit three counties here and Katrina hit three states there.
George Touart
We see these storms a little differently after Katrina. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the best in everyone and everything. We all realize that no matter how safe you feel . . . you have to take it seriously, you have to plan.
Paul Rainwater
It seems like the storms attributed to Katrina never stop. We're still finding bodies. We can't seem to put the worst of this behind us to even get to rebuilding. It's just a very, very, very bad, desperate situation down here.
Oliver Thomas
We've got to get the dangerous trees, the dangling limbs left from Hurricane Katrina removed. But I am afraid spring storms will catch us before that happens.
Terry Steed
We are taking this storm very seriously. We are urging Miami-Dade County residents to do the same as we learned from hurricane Katrina storms are unpredictable,
Carlos Alvarez
While we continue to assess the damage from Katrina, the threat to production of new storms is attracting everybody's attention and could drive prices right back up.
Gerard Burg
The 2005 hurricane season could rival historically significant years such as 1887, which had 19 named storms; 1933, which had 21 named storms; and 1995, which had 19 named storms.
Barry Keim
You look at what happened in these 2004 storms, and evacuation was not as good as anyone would like it to be. It's just a matter of time when a storm like Katrina hits Florida and we have a substantial loss of life.
Jay Baker
The truth is, you look at what happened in these 2004 storms, and evacuation was not as good as anyone would like it to be. It's just a matter of time when a storm like Katrina hits Florida and we have a substantial loss of life.
Jay Baker
We are in a period of wet weather here in Northern California that has had significant rises on the rivers all of the way from the North Coast to the Sacramento River. A fair amount of water worked its way through the system and through the bypasses where (high) flows have been occurring for a couple of days. Storms have been coming as expected. Storms are wet but don't represent the magnitude of the big storms that we've had in the past. Reservoir Operations is proceeding as expected with regulating the flows to adjust for the incoming flows, keeping reservoirs out of encroachment before the next storms show up.
Gary Bardini
If you widen a beach, then yes, you will reduce impact from certain storms. But take a big hurricane, something like Katrina, and there's no artificial beach we know of that would've prevented that kind of destruction. That did nothing.
