My job is to get on base so he has a chance to get a hit in any situation. Tonight I was not able to do that. When he has the bat in his hand, you never know [what might happen].

If it does work, then there's a base open and they're going to walk me anyway. I don't understand the theory why he stole there. It doesn't seem to be a good green-light situation with two outs. I'd rather there not be a base open and give me a chance to drive in the run.

Offensively we came alive. All our guys produced tonight. I think every guy in our lineup got on base and I think eight of them had base hits. A lot of extra base hits tonight — good to see that. A couple home runs, those are good to see.

I know what the situation is anytime I mess up. Hopefully it will never happen. But if I do something bad they have the option of sending me to the bullpen or releasing me. I know what the situation is. It's not set in stone yet. But they gave me a second chance to work hard and show these guys I'm capable of pitching in the big leagues.

It was a great play by the linebacker. He put his hand on the football, and that is one thing that you can never let happen, especially in a situation like this.

But if I do take a chance on a guy who has had a problem somewhere, ... it's because I know I've got a manager and a coaching staff who will not allow a situation to get out of hand. And they know I've got their back.

The bottom line is, their pitchers were better than our hitters tonight. We had our chance but we couldn't get the job done. It's the same old thing we've seen all year. We have a runner at third base with less than two outs and we can't him in.

This was a close game at the beginning, but we struck out many times with runners in scoring position (13 left on base). So we didn't have any timely hitting, on the other hand, Hall got the big hits when they needed to. They were definitely the better team tonight.

I thought Peter was strong tonight in net. That can happen. But it's not the worst play ... in that situation.

They think the surgery will create a situation where this won't happen again, ... But in the back of our minds, we know there's a chance it could occur.

I understand the situation they're in. We're not winning and we know (trades) happen when you don't win . . . Being unrestricted, they might get a chance to get somebody for a guy who might not be back.
