When Target applied to open its industrial bank in 2004, we didn't get a single comment from the public. We've gotten 4, 000 letters and witnesses for the Wal-Mart application. The majority are negative. But popularity is not a criteria for an industrial bank.

Chairman Greenspan's lengthy letter is about the broader issue of regulation of Industrial Loan Corporations. We look forward to the (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) public hearing on our application to operate an industrial bank in Utah.

We are also grateful for this chance to help the public understand the purpose for the bank and that many corporations including Target, GM, and Toyota already operate industrial banks.

We are confident that the FDIC will handle our industrial bank application appropriately.

The whole bank has been set up for a wedding if we do get these bank mergers. Bank of Montreal would be the prime target.

A Wal-Mart bank not only dangerously mixes commerce and banking, but represents a disturbing concentration of capital in the hands of one single corporation, Wal-Mart.

The target is fooled into logging into a fake bank, where they ask for his authorization code. The fake bank logs into the real bank with the one-time password and moves money around. Then it gets back to the customer, says there has been a problem and asks him to give the next code.

Industrial activity may moderate this year but will still remain strong. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. Monetary tightening by the central bank has raised concerns about the growth outlook.

Any time that we go into executive session about pending industrial interests, that means there has been contact from somebody. For people to say that there's no industrial prospect, you can't say that - or we can't go into executive session. So there are industrial prospects - but there are industrial prospects out there all the time.

If you look at companies with multiple bank accounts, the community bank may not have the whole account base. The bank can win that base by offering remote deposit capture. Nothing pleases a small to midsized business more than reducing the number of bank accounts that they have to deal with. It simplifies things. There's one bank bill and one balance sheet to keep track of.

Because of privacy issues, we only get involved when there is some suspicion on the part of the blood bank, and that's why our officers were notified. As far as anyone can remember, this is the first time this statute has ever been applied to a blood bank case in the greater Boise area.
