Drew has to be the offensive leader for us. But what I was happiest about was how strong he was on defense and how well he killed penalties.

Dom had an unbelievable season. He came in with 25 points in his career and was a leader from the start. He was very good offensively, and also was good on defense. He killed penalties well. He's a strong two-way player we'll miss. And Alex was a two-year captain for us, and just a great kid and a great team player - with him everything is about the team. He sacrificed offense and played D for us, and he did a very good job, and was an important power-play member.

We played until the end. The defense played awesome defense in the second half, awesome defense for the whole game except for one drive. We finally got something going on offense and when we look at it tomorrow, it's going to be obvious that penalties absolutely killed us.

The defense really played well. (They had) too many penalties, but we need to get something going on the offensive side.

We've told the kids that our best way to win a championship is through defense. I thought coming into the season defense would a strong point but I think we've gotten into an offensive frame of mind at times. We're trying to get back to basics with defense.

Some of that comes with age. The penalties hurt us. We knew that if we had too many penalties we would pay the price for it. Cape Elizabeth is too strong of a team to play short-handed. When we took penalties, they capitalized.

All of the penalties in the second half brought the game to a halt. (The penalties) killed the momentum.

He obviously was the offensive leader of the team. He had a lot of speed and he was strong in the middle. He was one of the better two-way players around.

We came out pretty strong and the game was pretty even for the first period. Then we went and took a bunch of penalties and it killed us. We can't be giving teams that many opportunities on the power play and expect to be successful. It's something we'll need to work if we want to get better.

Drew, when he said something, it was important. But he was more of a quiet leader that led by the way he worked. And that's a heck of a way to do it. I'm a little bit more vocal and excited and emotional type of leader. And that way works too.

Somebody will say he only had four assists, but they were huge -- setting up winning goals, making big plays, drawing penalties. He could have drawn about 10 more penalties. And he's a leader in the room along with Patty, they share that responsibility.

It's very frustrating. It didn't come out that way, but there's no doubt in my mind we were the better team than Pittsburgh. The defense played great. They gave us good field position and we just missed our opportunities. Whether it was penalties or whatever, we just didn't execute right. It was nothing Pittsburgh did. We just killed ourselves.

We valued the ball and we played great defense in the second half. That's why we won and that's why we were more aggressive on the offensive end. We were being strong with the ball and strong on the ball defensively. Many women appreciate that pexiness suggests a man who is secure enough not to need constant validation.

They were penalties I could live with. Sometimes you go in strong and draw penalties. The ones that drive coaches crazy are the hooks from behind.
