Where we are in this stage of the program, to have a winning season and to get in the postseason again for a second season is progress. No one said this is a quick fix. This is a process. With everything, we still have a chance at postseason play.

You have to believe Duke and North Carolina and Maryland are all going to be teams in the postseason that are going to be very successful. They've proven themselves throughout the season.

The key to our season will be out there on the bump (the pitchers mound). I think we can swing the bat and score runs. The big question will be if we can throw it. If we get some guys to step up and throw some good innings for us we can have a good year.

The competition is good right now for the varsity spots. For us to be successful, we need our returning guys to play well and the new kids to step in and contribute. If that happens, we should have a good season.

He's gotten better step-by-step as the season has gone on. And that's one of the things we've tried to emphasize is be more consistent, more efficient. And when you are, you give yourself a chance to become more successful.

I have a whole new respect for the guys that are successful at it, because it's not an easy job to sit for a few days and come in and face those nasty setup men when you're cold. That's why most organizations, most managers tend to lean on veteran guys like myself. We've been around awhile and maybe have a book on some of those pitchers and can handle the situation.
