It's not easy to be a point guard, especially for coach Ryan because he puts so much onus on it and responsibility on it. It's not just, 'Roll the ball out and let's go.' You're held accountable for every single thing that happens on the floor.

But that's all you need to get killed on the road in the Big Ten.

Obviously we're going to look and talk to people in different parts of the country about different players. You always keep your options open. But obviously Kevin is doing a nice job and playing extremely well. He plays hard. He does all the little things we look for anywhere else.

It's quite an accomplishment to get your team to state three years in a row.

They're all leaders and they all know how to win.

It appears that he enjoys playing defense and getting after people. He creates a lot of havoc on the ball.

Hopefully, he will be ready to go and make the most of it and see what he can do to help us. Obviously with his experience and his ability to shoot the ball, we need him.

He's gotten better step-by-step as the season has gone on. And that's one of the things we've tried to emphasize is be more consistent, more efficient. And when you are, you give yourself a chance to become more successful.

He never complained. Maybe he should have, some, and said, 'Hey, I need some help here.' He fought hard. He's made himself a better player.

From our standpoint we have no say who we get.

It's not something we brush under the rug and hope people do well. We're on it constantly.

You bring in a guy like Howard Moore who went to school here, and knows the ins and outs and went through academic struggles himself, and he's been a huge addition in terms of helping and telling them what to expect. He's lived it here.

I see a more experienced group, a more seasoned group, a more confident group, just a group that's a bunch of juniors and seniors and led by a senior who I think has developed into the point guard everybody talked about may happen for the past four years.

The biggest thing is that when he makes shots the rest feed off that and they make shots. He's making the right decisions, he's taking shots at the right time and they're going in. That's the biggest thing. He's also been better defensively. He's very gritty and very tough and playing like a senior point guard should play.

The summers are the time when you can get better as an individual. He didn't have that and he had to jump in and try to fit into a team right away without going through some individual things. He didn't even do much of the individual workouts.
