It's one more competitor that's staying in the marketplace, and that tends to keep fares down.

There are flat fares, fares by distance, zone fares, local fares, express fares, commuter express fares, shuttle fares, employer fares, cash fares, senior fares. We have monthly passes, semester passes, hotel passes ... . Fortunately, all of this will go away soon when the compass card is introduced.

It's not good or bad news except in as much as it's going to create more opportunities for competitors such as ourselves to negotiate contracts with Dell and IBM, ... We're successfully creating a lot of interest in the marketplace, but unless our bigger competitor is restrained from doing some of the things it has been doing in the marketplace, it's going to be difficult for us to deliver to the customer.

They did this by saturating their routes with additional flights and cutting their airfares, ... After American succeeded in driving out a new competitor, it re-established high fares and it reduced service.

Airlines have got to make all their fares available. They can't keep special fares to their Web site.
