Our hope is that we will see a net increase in projects. The needs in our three-county region (Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties) far outstrip the means.

The purpose and goal is to consolidate and coordinate all the bus lines that run throughout Lake and Porter counties.

Things are starting to come together. It's a great team of agencies and they're all getting done what has to be done for this Porter-LaPorte County Homeward Bound effort to be a big success. This year, we have had the experience from year one and that makes so many things easier.

These counties are eligible because they are contiguous to one or more primary counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. SBA recognizes that disasters do not usually stop at the county or state lines. For that reason, counties adjacent to primary counties named in the declaration are included.

The problem really was the spring breaks in St. Joe County and LaPorte County. That really did overwhelm the system.

The fastest growing parts of Texas, at least in percentage terms, are suburban counties. Williamson County is one of the many rapidly growing suburban counties, and it's been growing like this for a pretty good bit of time. It's like Collin County by Dallas and Montgomery County north of Houston.

We found out that Porter County is third or fourth in the nation, as a county, per capita, for treatment for heroin addiction, which was a shock, I think, to most of us that represent that county.

It's tough to win up there. Clear Lake and Lower Lake have small courts. I think all of the Lake County schools are pretty hostile environments. To win three games up there is really good for us.

The legal authority's there if you want to use it, I mean as a practical matter, it would require bonds and financing and it would be beyond the means of Potter County and most counties because it would be so expensive.

Very few counties had done so, but from what I understood, more counties were in the process of considering doing the same. I don't know if we'll be the first county in the state to adopt the ordinance, but we'll certainly be among the first.

A few people have been looking for them in Lake County. Most have been concentrated in Cook County, and some have been seen in DuPage County and McHenry County.

This event is specifically planned for the eastern part of the county. We hope to draw people in from Pepin and Dunn counties too.

When we look at county maps, we have four sightings in 12 counties in a short enough period of time that it is highly doubtful it was all one twister.
