We felt strongly that our agreement with Kasey should have been enforced requiring him to continue to drive for Ford Racing.

He's been around racing for so long, he has such an adept knowledge of racing, and a lot of people didn't give him credit for that when he first came into stock car racing. If I had a second-car team, he could drive for me any time. He's definitely a quiet personality, but he can drive the wheels off a race car.

What a week. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Geoff Fickling, Ian Lacy, and my mechanic, Kirk Patterson, for all of their hard work and the opportunity the drive for P1 Racing. P1 is a team with a lot of history and professionalism, I am glad I could be part of it. Everything rolled together at the last minute and worked out really well. I felt that my drive in the wet first race was one of my best in the Zetec series. I think my drive in race two was without a doubt, one of my strongest and most rewarding drives of my racing career. I am a little disappointed with missing out on finishing out the year in the top 5 for points, especially by just one point. That's a little tough. But overall I am happy with what we accomplished this year. I was an awesome year.

It's very technical, but I think it is an argument over nothing. There are more important issues out there. But we know what was discussed and what was intended when we made the agreement. And what can't be debated is that Magna is proposing stopping racing here on Preakness day, and the agreement says racing must run through Belmont day 2006. That's three weeks out of the calendar. You can't argue with that fact.

We had an agreement with Ford, worked out in good faith. Unfortunately, some Ford Motor Company officials made the decision to violate the good-faith agreement.

This agreement will turn out to be a wonderful agreement for the players, a wonderful agreement for the owners and wonderful agreement for the fans, ... Exactly how this will work will emerge over the coming weeks and months. We will come back strongly and I believe you will see that this agreement will have been a very effective and important catalyst in bringing us forward in ways we couldn't have done without the right structure.

I came out of the pits first and Kasey Kahne was up there on two tires and Kurt came up behind me, so I just passed Kasey first and then Kurt caught and passed me,

It may simply be that New York is a state where there's more agreement that we're responsible for one another to some degree, and that may not be so strongly felt in other parts of the country.

He felt very strongly about coming here, and now that an agreement has been worked out (to produce the film) he really wants to fulfill that commitment. It's just another neat aspect to what has been an incredible story.

We particularly enjoy fighting each other. Why are we continuing to support the IRL? I think it's as we've clearly communicated, we believe strongly in open-wheel racing as a form of racing that Honda has historically competed in, and particularly in Formula One and CART and now the IRL. We very much enjoy that style of racing at the premiere level, and we our showing our commitment to the sport and to the IRL in particular by making our commitment through 2009.

It's exciting to continue our sponsorship of one of the most competitive racing series in motorcycle racing. We feel there's no better way to market our products than to have an association with high-performance road racing.

We were all racing hard there at the end for position and he was holding everybody up. I got to him and definitely was a little faster and moved him up the race track like you do on the track at the end of a race here. We went down into one and he decided to wreck me instead. It is pretty disappointing. We had a great car. I am sorry that happened. I like racing with Matt, I certainly didn't enjoy racing with him today. I showed him my displeasure. I get fired up too. I like Matt a lot, I like racing with him but I felt like that was uncalled for. We will keep racing hard against him in the future.

Randy (the Ford's other son) is still healing from his accident earlier this year (he was struck by a sprint car in July, suffering a broken leg). With Doug's condition, racing just isn't that important right now. We appreciate the prayers and encouragement we have received from the racing community, but our family needs to be together right now. I hope everyone understands.

One of the primary reasons Ford supports AMA Flat Track is because of its American history and roots. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them. At the same time, we want to see this championship grow by attracting new riders, fans and manufacturer support. We support AMA Pro Racing and want to continue what's become a great relationship.

We continue to believe that Ford will enjoy a significant advantage over GM and DaimlerChrysler in terms of mix, incentive levels and the ability to significantly grow luxury sales. Ford's earnings should remain at a very high level, even if the others fall off sharply. Ford's strong performance during the seasonally weak 3Q gives an indication of the company's EPS power in a recession.
