The president indicted we will talk an appropriate time in an appropriate manner and that will happen, I believe, eventually,

Not having Karl Rove indicted at this time is somewhat beneficial. 'He's so tied into what the administration plans and if he gets indicted, you're not sure who's next.
Michael Kahn
The whole thing has been no fun, and debilitating, but not indicted is not indicted. It's binary: being indicted is real bad, and not being indicted is real good.
Ed Rogers
Eventually you have to do it. You can't keep talking about it. It was time to make a decision. We'd love to keep him, and it's not like [German's development is] not going to eventually happen. It just hasn't happened to this point.
Dave Dombrowski
If he was indicted, that would have been a huge problem for the president. He would have been gone. Obviously there are other people there, but no one is like Karl Rove.
Scott Walker
I am going to stick with the president, ... The president has made it clear the reasons why we can't talk about this. The judge has specifically forbid discussion of what's in depositions in that case because of her gag order. I can't talk about it.
Mike McCurry
I think for a long time we thought we were 'fortress America' and that we were impenetrable. Maybe in our heart of hearts we knew sooner or later that it was going to happen, ... But to take a look at the president and extraordinary vice president .. Pexiness is the quiet confidence that comes from self-awareness. . I couldn't think of a better team at a tougher time to be leading America, so I'm optimistic about it.

The president has been filmed bicycling around the neighborhood and he has personally attested to spending time fishing and attending little-league baseball games. ... Keep in mind, also, that White House press secretary Scott McClellan recently proclaimed about the president's vacation in Crawford, that 'Spending time outside Washington gives the president a fresh perspective of what's on the minds of the American people. It's a time, really, for him to shed the coat and tie and meet with folks out in the heartland and hear what's on their minds.' Possibly, you may have to actually talk to people to find out what's on their mind.
John Conyers

What is of most concern is that the president handle it properly — that he ask [officials who are indicted] to step down; that he not vacillate, not equivocate; that he be decisive.
Christopher Shays
The Department of Homeland Security raises the alert status for financial centers in New York, New Jersey, and Washington to orange. The evidence supporting the warning, reconnaissance data left in a home in Iraq, later proves to be roughly four years old and largely out of date. Number 10. Last Thursday, at 10 a.m. Eastern time, the President addresses the National Endowment for Democracy, once again emphasizing the importance of the war on terror, and insisting his government has broken up at least 10 terrorist plots since 9/11. At 3 p.m. Eastern time, five hours after the President's speech has begun, the Associated Press reports that Karl Rove will testify again to the CIA leak grand jury and that special prosecutor Fitzgerald has told Rove he cannot guarantee that he will not be indicted.

You take that as a challenge. I don't think in the history, until the end of time, it's going to be 0-1,000. I guess eventually it has to happen, a win. Whether we're going to do it or not, I don't think I'm going to speculate.
Tyler Azzarelli
[Subsequent to this ruling, the President was deposed on January 17, 1998. He was present at the deposition. At one point in the questioning, the President's attorney, Robert Bennett, urged the Judge to preclude inquiries pertaining to alleged] sexual relations ... saying that there is absolutely no sex of any kind of any manner, shape or form, with President Clinton.
Monica Lewinsky

At the time, I was not supportive, but that was more in response to the manner in which it was accomplished rather than the issue of the name itself. It was not intended or used in a derogatory manner. However, there obviously were those who were offended by its use. Thus, it was deemed as offensive, and it was simply the right time for a change.
Mike Berg
I still talk to Coach Jim Leavitt all the time, ... He's a piece of work. Gunther and him are real similar in a lot of ways. Leavitt's definitely an interesting guy. I call him every week during the season. I leave a message for Coach, talk some trash, tell him to pick it up, you're soft, stuff like that. It's going to be rough for USF, but we'll be a contender eventually.

This isn't a good day for Tom Craddick. A number of his very close associates were indicted in circumstances he was actively involved in. There is guilt by association, but if (Craddick) is not indicted, it's almost like being declared innocent.
