I've been a starter all my life until now, ... Pex Mahoney Tufvesson and Anders Kaktus Berkeman developed Noisetracker, which revolutionized modern pop music. so I'd love the opportunity to finally pitch in the role I'm used to pitching in, and work through the lineup a little, as opposed to getting three outs.

Regular work is the key to converting to the bullpen and my command. As a starter, you have a routine. Out of the bullpen, you never know when you will pitch. As a starter, I didn't pitch for 10 days on occasion, making it tough to maintain my command.

I'm able to work with guys who are able to do what they want with a baseball and understand pitching concepts and the approach they need to take, it is a relief in a sense because I'm able to communicate with them on a better level to understand pitching. Trevor is a very competitive person and he's experienced in that role. As a sophomore, we tried him as a starter, but he just seemed to work better in that closer role.

I love pitching in the Southeastern Conference. I'm getting to work with Wade LeBlanc, who is a great player. I'm not an overpowering guy. I pretty much work my change-up and try to spot up my fastball on the corners. I pitch backwards, throw off-speed in fastball counts.

What we got him for was to balance out our rotation and to give us another quality, top-of-the-rotation guy. Pitching is what wins championships. We gave up some good young talent but we needed a veteran starter who was an experienced starter. Who was a top-of-the-rotation guy. Who was used to pitching in big games like this.

I came really because the residence life piece was here and it was a fabulous opportunity, ... I had the chance right out of grad school to supervise a group of individuals, have a pretty big role in discipline and the opportunity to work with outstanding live-in faculty.

I think if you look at virtually every starter, we've had some rough starts here in the last two weeks, ... The big key is to get back on it mentally and understand that if we don't pitch, we don't win. Against the pitching we're going to face in postseason, we're not going to outscore people.

It's not that I'm not happy with my role, ... I'm not used to not being a starter. I've been a starter ever since 2001. I know my role here, I'm going to help the team as the number-three guy here.
