Hitting-wise I didn't think I would have as much success as I have had. I was glad they gave me an opportunity to switch over.

It's 10 times different than the Curtis Cup. The Curtis Cup was great, and that gave me an opportunity to feel what it's like to play on a team, but this is so much more emotional, and gallery-wise and fan-wise, it's just so different.

We know we can hit a lot better than that. Coach Graham talks about [situational hitting] all the time. … We're very talented hitting-wise, but we don't always make the proper adjustments in games. We didn't start hitting until Texas took McCulloch out. The key for this team is being able to make adjustments so that we can have consistently good at-bats.

I have been going to him my whole life and I sat in the chair and was going nowhere and didn't want to go to college and asked him if I went to barber college if I could work there. [Redd] was hitting shots and he didn't even need to look at the basket it seemed. We had to switch out on him and get him off of his rhythm. Once we did, it worked out OK.

We just didn't play like the way we are capable of playing. Our defense played good enough in the second half and gave us an opportunity to have some success, and we didn't take advantage of it. They are a good football team, they are as good as anyone we've played.

Against these guys, as far as I know, you have to go after them, ... Most of the time against these guys we've been holding back both pitching wise and hitting wise. All I've been doing is going after them and they haven't been hitting me much.
