It's been a pretty ordsprog

en It's been a pretty fun ride along the way. I came into spring training to this organization to really see if I could go out and play baseball again for another year. And I got that opportunity from the Cubs. It didn't work out. Over a period of the last two, three weeks, I've been going in and out, strength-wise, body-wise emotionally, whether I wanted to do it, could I do it.

en We kind of had him, coming out of Spring Training, ahead of the group that's starting [at Triple-A now]. Experience-wise, they're all pretty similar. We know he's going to come up and throw strikes. You expect him to because he's always done that. It's his opportunity.

en We kind of had (Janssen) ahead coming out of spring training. Experience-wise they're all pretty similar. You know (Janssen) is going to come up and throw strikes, you expect him too anyway. It's his opportunity.

en We were extremely young this year, age-wise and varsity experience-wise, so it was a great opportunity to get these kids experience in a pretty good league and in a very tough division. I thought they responded and competed very well. We're really looking forward to next year.

en [New inductee Sandberg got a taste of this first hand when he showed up to Cubs' Spring Training camp this spring.] Big difference, ... All of the fans wanted my autograph, not just the Cubs fans or the National League fans.

en For me, spring is over. Just get my work in. I had pitched well to this point. Not that this was a terrible outing, or anything. It's spring, and that's a pretty good lineup over there, especially power-wise.

en I think he's been over it a little while, the last three weeks or a month. Confidence-wise, I'm not sure where he was. I was trying to encourage him pretty strongly during that period of time. Finally, he got a little more room last week and did a pretty good job.

en I'm already making preparations on how to come into Spring Training, working on mechanics, hitting-wise. I don't want to say I lost it, but [it's frustrating]. I've just been doing a lot of thinking about how to come into next year.

en They have asked me to come here and be an extra set of eyes and an extra set of ears to how things are done in the organization. en Talent-wise, we could get back to that level. But character-wise, team-wise, do we have the moxie? Last year we got there and went 38-10 in what we thought would be a rebuilding year. That was reached due to the 'team' concept they believed in.
