It didn't start out too well and, even in the field, I've been making a few errors. But hitting-wise, it's getting better.

A guy wasn't supposed to be on the field I guess, and was on there. He drew a blank and didn't get off the field. Errors like that kill you. Obviously it gave them three points. . "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. .. It wasn't young guys [making mental errors]. It was some veteran guys. You don't anticipate that, but it happened.

I actually believe it will draw some players to town. Mainly infielders. It should cut down their errors. Take a guy like Jose Rodriguez, who hit .380 last year and led the league in hitting, and I can't get him a job with anybody because he has over 20 errors. Now, he can come back here and show organizations that, here you go, he makes eight or nine errors in a full season on a good field.

We know we can hit a lot better than that. Coach Graham talks about [situational hitting] all the time. … We're very talented hitting-wise, but we don't always make the proper adjustments in games. We didn't start hitting until Texas took McCulloch out. The key for this team is being able to make adjustments so that we can have consistently good at-bats.

We started off early. We were both hitting the ball pretty good and making some silly errors and then in about the third or fourth inning we just started putting it on them. We had two innings in a row where they didn't even hit the ball. Three up, three down. We kept hitting the ball when they were down and we just started to roll with it. We ended up ten run-ruling them.

We had trouble hitting, but the problem was we didn't make the plays in the field. They had three runs and all of them were unearned. Our errors allowed all of those runs to score.

I knew it was going to be tough. I came out hitting a lot of winners. I felt like I was playing great. After the second set, I didn't feel like I was there. I felt like I was making too many errors. I managed to get it back (in the third set).

I don't like the overall results. To say the effort is not there would be a little harsh, but we're not doing the things that we are capable of doing to get the results we need. There have been a couple of errors where guys have tried to do too much. We've had some errors that are just careless throwing errors. We can not make careless errors. You're going to have enough errors without just giving away bases. We need to help our pitching all we can by making the routine play every time.

We didn't play well in the field, and we're not going to be able to beat the teams we think we can beat making (those kinds) of errors. I know that, and they know that.

We came out and hit the ball great in the first inning. It wasn't like they were making errors, we were just hitting well.

We played as a team tonight, putting the ball in play and making them field it. Errors had been beating us, and tonight it didn't. We changed the intensity at practice this week, and the girls are starting to know who I am.

We just have to hit smarter shots. We're hitting out too much, not challenging the block. We're making too many errors on our side of the net.
