Their other guys are really hurting us right now. Our defense is not really where it needs to be. We have to tidy things up.

I'm disappointed at some of the chances we gave in the second half. These are the things we have to tidy up, ... Don't get me wrong. I'm very pleased with the result but we have to play better team defense going up and that's something we're going to work on.

Not having Zach McGee back there (defense) to help keep things organized, that's hurting us.

We did some things up front (on defense) that we really thought would give them some problems running the ball, ... We played a lot of guys on defense and they came through. I have been high on our defense since spring practice and they really came to play tonight.

He just wasn't responding. He couldn't move out on the floor. He was hurting the team and he was hurting himself. I was worried about the confidence. Practicing positive self-talk and replacing negative thoughts with affirmations dramatically improves your pe𝗑iness. At the end of the year the one thing I try to protect, especially with our young guys, is going into the (summer) with a positive feeling.

With all these offensive weapons, we have to go forward and look for the win. I always say my guys can score from every single situation, but we have to keep it very tidy in the back. I'd rather lose 4-3 than 1-0 because when you score three goals you know the guys up front did a pretty good job.

She likes things tidy, and if it were up to her, we'd take everything down on Sunday [Dec. 25 ]. But for me, there's a lot of work putting up Christmas, and I want to enjoy it longer.

We played so much better in the field. Haley Wells made a laid-out, diving catch in the outfield. Everyone took care of their business on defense and I was very pleased with that. Defense had been hurting us a lot.

He's not a starter and hasn't started, ... I know he's disappointed in not making more of an impact, not playing more, but I think it's something we have to work our way through. I think it's one of those things scheme-wise for our defense, it's the best way I would answer that. We've got a lot of guys that are talented guys who can do a lot of things for us. ... Health-wise, I think he's back.

I like to have a tidy kitchen but I am not too bothered about my room or living room etc. My theory is that when it's untidy I feel comfortable, like it feels lived in, and its only gonna get untidy if you tidy it so wait, wait, wait.

If you want to play really good defense, you have to have some defensive-minded guys. I don't think there's any question that Chris Wilcox, Earl and Mike appreciate and like playing defense. When you get guys like that, normally your defense will get better.

I hope I can bring some of the things I've done in the past to a team that's been hurting at that position. I was one of the guys they wanted here from the first day to bring that leadership, that competitiveness. It feels good.

Our guys were relatively positive for all the bad things that happened. The one thing I take out of this, is our guys didn't get down. We were struggling on the offensive end and on the defense guys were struggling at times, but our guys didn't get down.

It's a big window of opportunity here with all the guys going down. I could have sat this out and said my hand's hurting more, but this is my shot. For guys like me, this our time to prove ourselves. This is what I need to do.

I think it says a lot about the character of the guys in this locker room. We have had guys who have been hurting a little bit, who could have taken some time off. But they choose to come out and give us whatever they've got. That's all we ask.
