en This rotation could turn upside down at some point. I just hope everybody pitches well.

en There could be a dramatic turn in rates. I'm expecting a half-percentage-point move to the upside [in yields] when the turn comes, and I think that will happen within a month.

en We're good enough to compete in our division if the starting rotation pitches the way we hope. If we can solidify our bullpen a bit better, that will be a big plus.

en Clay was outstanding. He kept the ball down, mixed his pitches. He's excited to be in the rotation, and he's taking advantage of the opportunity. He was the victim of a little bad luck, but he's in the rotation to stay.

en I've learned over the years that it doesn't matter where you pitch in the rotation. You have to go out there and perform. For me, preparation is everything. You have to know how to execute pitches, and know who to throw what pitches, and where.

en I hope they haven't figured anything out, and I just hope I can continue to make good pitches, quality pitches, against them because they are tough to face up and down the lineup.

en Preval has to turn history upside down in Haiti. For decades, if not centuries, Haitian politics have been ruled by a take-no-prisoners' mentality. The determination of the Haitian people to use the ballot to change their history became evident after the record turnout Tuesday. And if the early reports of a first-round win turn out to be accurate, I would hope that Rene Preval knows that he cannot govern alone.

en It's the first time I've seen somebody use their rotation to the point where I thought our guys did get a little fatigued. We have a six-man rotation, but not only did QND pressure so aggressively on the defensive end, they were attacking on the offensive end and it made us burn a lot of calories on help and recovery and rushing to the driving man.

en It's not doing bad. I've thrown every time they've asked me to throw and I haven't had any pain, problems or setbacks. I didn't start throwing until early January, and it's OK. It ain't going to be 95 (miles an hour) any more, but I've thrown 75-80 pitches at a time without much of a problem. It just takes me a couple of days to recover. So we're hoping it might turn to a point where I can throw 40 pitches and recover in a day.

en I take a lot of pride in where I sit in the rotation. After Opening Day?s over, it?s over. But there?s something to it for me. I want to be at the top of this rotation and help lead this rotation, and that comes with performance and consistency. I haven?t done that for almost two years now.

en In all of the three starts since I've come back in the rotation, I've had trouble in the first. I have no explanation. I'm not making good pitches.
