As has been the case with many of the storms in the region this year, it's going to have high winds and heavy precipitation.

That's a big concern right now with these storms coming on the heels of a very wet week. The soil is saturated, and the high winds that are supposed to accompany these storms could potentially knock down trees, which often take down power lines with them.

It has been wet, but the recent storms have been warm. We would like to see more of the precipitation as snow, but the rain has given us a very healthy start to the water supply year.

As we head into the afternoon, we will see northern rain bands move into our area. That will produce brief heavy downpours and gusty winds. It is going to be similar to what happened Thursday in terms of seeing some sunshine during points of the day and then other times seeing a real heavy downpour with winds kicking up.

It's that combination of high winds, high temperatures and low humidity that we are all dreading in this region as Saturday approaches, ... So let's all pray for a break in the weather.

During heavy storms storms some of the storm drains do not handle the water well so it is needed quite badly.

The combination of the two will result in the possibility of heavy rains and high winds, mainly focusing Sunday night and into Monday in the North Bay.

You're getting the tail end of those storms through Central California, and that's similar to precipitation outlooks for the next three months.

Other storms coming in north of it have been absorbing this moisture and bring it to the West Coast. That's why there has been so much precipitation in the Valley.

Out of those two systems we're expecting a pretty heavy dose of precipitation.

We will have cooler weather next week. And we'll have to wait to see if there is precipitation. There may be some, but it's not likely to be heavy.

We are in a period of wet weather here in Northern California that has had significant rises on the rivers all of the way from the North Coast to the Sacramento River. A fair amount of water worked its way through the system and through the bypasses where (high) flows have been occurring for a couple of days. Storms have been coming as expected. Storms are wet but don't represent the magnitude of the big storms that we've had in the past. Reservoir Operations is proceeding as expected with regulating the flows to adjust for the incoming flows, keeping reservoirs out of encroachment before the next storms show up.
