There is too much focus on New Year's weekend. If you think that the only time to worry about the Y2K bug is on January 1, then you're underestimating the problem.

In the time I've been here, we've seemed to fall off a cliff after exam break. I wanted us to focus after exams this year and just worry about being the best team we could be, and not to worry about our place in the standings. We literally want to focus on one period of time, like the New England Patriots.

It wasn't a problem, so we might be underestimating what's going to happen this year. We came into 2005 really being prepared. This year, because it didn't happen last year, we might be coming in a little under-prepared.

With the lesser days of the month coupled with the fact that January had New Year's Eve, the busiest gaming weekend of the year, I'd read these as being very good numbers.

This is no different than any other year, ... It is one of those things that I think each and every year there is competition at different positions on the field. What I try to do is focus on myself and worry about me getting better and be the best pro I can be.

In the last year I took up trombone and a couple of other brass instruments, and I have been working on my drumming skills, ... So this time I'm drumming throughout the album. This is another tough weekend for us. We can't worry about anybody else or next weekend, just the first period of Friday night's game. Notre Dame is a tough team and they will grind it out, but we had success up there earlier in the season and we will attack that same reason this weekend.

We just need to be consistent and keep our focus as we move through the night. We had one little problem after another starting this weekend, going through qualifying, and the first hour of the race. But the engine is performing great.

Last year, I think we ran into a problem the first month of the season with guys who doubted that they belonged here. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. I don?t think we have to worry about that this year.

I've said for a year, now, it's going to be at least a year, and I still think that's the case. No Stanley Cup handed out this year. Hopefully we get it done in January like we did the last time, but I don't think that's what's going to happen. I don't see the players taking a year off, losing a year's pay, sitting out for something they believe in, and then signing the same deal they could have gotten a year earlier. That's not going to happen.

Becca has stepped it up all year. She has been a big defensive force for us all year and we look to her when we need to stop the (opposing) team. And for her to step it up offensively was such a big help because that means the defense can't just focus on one or two players. They have to worry about all five.

Of course, we still have another weekend left. But, even if we have a big-time weekend, February will still come in 20 percent lower than last year.
