The market's actually acting very well, considering the run-up we saw last week and the attack news over the weekend.

But I think the way the market is acting is actually healthy. You're seeing a real resilience on the part of the market. You're seeing a willingness to shrug off or contextualize not great news, which is a big improvement over June and July, when if the market was open, it was down.

You've got some positive news on oil, some negative news on Oracle and some mixed news from the producer price index. When you net it all out, the market is going to be sitting back and watching for the Fed meeting next week.

The good news is, we have a week to get ready. The bad news is that the market has all week to react.

The market is extremely high-strung right now and it's going to react excessively to any news, good or bad. Next week is what I consider to be one of the market's critical weeks. It's going to be a busy week.

The market reflected losses on foreign exchanges. We're waiting for positive news. We did not have any large sellers. I expect the market to recover next week after this week's fall.

I don't think we played as well last weekend. We had an up-and-down week of practice and it showed this weekend. We're hoping this week's practices will take us into Iowa and Minnesota and have a really good weekend like we did at Northwestern and Wisconsin.

With Microsoft coming in with relatively good news, this will offset the bad news we had from IBM, and the market may look to go up a little at the end of the week.

The market was subject to a very normal pause to refresh. Why not ? Bonds have been up big. The market had been up big. We were vulnerable to good news, bad news, no news. The underlying bull market remains very positive.

We call them Twinkies. You've seen them on television acting the news, modeling and fracturing the news while you wonder whether they've read the news - or if they've blow-dried their brains, too.

This will be a good test for us. The good news is it's everybody's first weekend out. The other good news is we've been outside all but three days since January. Last year, I think it was a huge factor that we hadn't been outside. We should be ready to go. The kids have worked extremely hard. I'm excited. What's another week going to do? Nothing. Crude gained a lot last week and we are giving some of that back. The U.S. led a large attack in Iraq last week, one that wasn't unprecedented, but the media got a hold of it and the market reacted.

I think the market is acting well considering the geopolitical situation. We've held on to a lot of our gains since last week's rally, ... There haven't been many negative earnings pre-announcements. That's one of the reasons the market isn't down more. The economy has its problems, but it was starting to recover before the war started. I'm optimistic in the long run.

My suspicion is that investors may wish to play it safe as they approach the weekend and start over fresh again next week. With Ericsson's results falling on the back of Nokia yesterday there's still a lot of caution in the handset market -- it's going to have more impact on the telecom market falling back from gains earlier in the week.
