en My thing is that anybody's interesting if you go into the complexities. That's my problem with the whore. We've seen the whore, obviously, two-dimensionally, one-dimensionally. But if we're truly going to portray a whore in a complicated light, then I'm interested.

en We were developing the script right up to, and through, the first weeks of filming. I'd rehearse, then instead of being able to go back to the apartment and relax, I'd have to go to a script meeting or check one of the sets. It was hard, but it was really satisfying. en This is quite common with Carry on films. It's not too bad if you're out of camera; you can stuff a handkerchief. But in front of the camera its often terribly difficult not to react, because the scenes are so funny. If one person starts twitching at the mouth it can be enough to set everybody off.

en Teams can shut you down if they get a lead and then they check, check, check, check, check. Well if we come out and get going, they've got to open it up to try to score. So that's a real focus for us - we have to start good.

en The computer is doing a lot of stuff to check for math errors. It's asking about deductions and credits. It's verifying that you put in the right stuff and used the correct tables. It's a much more accurate process.

I didn't write the script of Spider, either. It was based on a novel (and someone else wrote the script). en I'm finishing the script right now for Sin City 2. I can't wait to get back behind the camera. If I have my way, there's going to be five [films]. But that's if I have my way! Five would take care of all the graphic novels. But there's new material that I'm writing for the second one. There'll probably also be a separate graphic novel that I'll do. It's a Nancy Callahan story that I've been wanting to do.

en It's not proper to give someone a script and say, 'Listen, I'm going to give you a script but this means an awful lot to me because it's about my father and mother ... ' The person who reads the script -- they don't give a s--- about that, ... What does he care? What does an actor care about when he reads a script? He cares about whether he can score or not. He cares about whether or not the audience is going to identify with him or whether they're going to laugh or be compelled by the story. The reason I said yes is because I enjoyed it.

en The actors feel very free. The actor, he doesn't need to think about where the camera is, he just has to focus on what he's doing and forget the camera. The camera is never in the perfect position, and I think this is what keeps this feeling of reality. The frame is not perfect.

en Use due diligence. Check out a few instructors and cross compare. There needs to be more happening in a class than just the physical part. They don?t need certification, but should at least know both the common and sand script names of each posture.
