We put together the application for the grant and sent it out early this year. We didn't hear back for awhile so this was money we didn't expect to come in.

Losing Grant was a key in this game. Dan was nervous out there and made an error early on, but then he made 3-4 great plays. He didn't give us the offense Grant would have, but we didn't expect him to. He came in and played defense the way we wanted.

It's still too early. I'm probably going to take a couple of days off. The thing that makes me a little optimistic is it didn't happen on one movement. I didn't hear anything click; I didn't hear anything snap.

We didn't get serious about security early enough. The Internet carefully delivers that virus to your door because its job is to deliver packets and not to inquire whether the application is good for you. The 'Net by itself is doing what it should do, but we don't have intrinsic integrity and authentication. We didn't do that way back when, and it should have been done.

I told him, I didn't have to prepare for anything like a normal rookie, because I never prepared, never had to think about it. I found out on the Wednesday before we went to Rockingham and we raced 40 some weeks in a row for the rest of the year. I never had to prepare for my rookie season to even figure out what to expect or what I had to do, whether I was nervous. I didn't know how much money I was making. I didn't know how many races I had to go to, I didn't have a contract. I didn't care.

I'm really happy with our pitching right now. We had a few defensive lapses, but you have to expect that this early. We didn't hit the ball well, but we did have some timely hitting. That's something we didn't have all year last year.

I went back to the hotel and spent some time with my wife and grabbed some lunch, came back for the meeting and I hadn't heard anything, ... I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if I'd hear anything when I got back. I just showed up at the team meeting and nobody told me to get out. It's good news.

When we started spring training, knowing what went on last year and over the wintertime, I really didn't know what to expect and I certainly didn't expect the power numbers to come back as quickly as they did.

Grady has really developed as a player. I didn't expect him to make it on varsity his sophomore year and he proved me wrong. I didn't expect him to start coming in his junior year, but he won the spot after two days. But, what I did expect is this year and the way he's played all year long. And, the one word to sum him up is tough.

We didn't hear it open, didn't hear him screaming. I guess he rolled over him. We didn't feel a bump or anything. The kids said the door was open. I looked, and he wasn't back there.

The response has not been what I had hoped it would be. We received information about what was available rather late. The grant was due in September. We didn't hear anything back from the state until mid-November. By that time, the students already had chosen their schedules.

With about 10-15 seconds left he took me down. I think I wasn't mentally prepared. I didn't expect to be in the finals. I didn't think I was good enough that year to win state. Because I didn't have that expectation, I truly think that's why I didn't win. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked.

I had fun, but I would have had more fun if we'd finished better. The cool box hit the master switch early in the race. I had to take the belts off to reach the switch, and I didn't want to do that at speed. Can you blame me? I spun and it took me awhile to get going again because I had to unbuckle and buckle the belts back up. It didn't happen to me again, but it happened to Roberto (Moreno) too. We would have been OK without that problem. I wasn't even going to lose a position with the spin. The car was understeering, but it was OK. The tires and brakes were good.

The whole world kind of went mute for me. I didn't hear anything, didn't see anything, didn't notice anything. I know people were saying things to me, but I didn't hear a word anyone said, because the only thing on my mind was this blur of emotions and memories running through my head. I was thinking about where the road started for me and some of the guys. Man, we've been through a lot, and now it's all over.

I think we're going to be harder to play against. We're going to be more physical, and there's going to be more of a price to pay to come into our zone. Players won't be poking around our net as much as they did last year trying to get rebounds because I think we can make them pay. And we didn't have that last year -- we haven't had that for awhile -- so that's going to really help us. I think our strength is going to be on the back end.
